Intelligent automation for real living ecosystems
A fully integrated controller designed to run aquariums, terrariums, and living installations locally, reliably, and without compromise.
Quick summary
- 8 onboard PWM output channels for direct control
- Connects to multiple sensors and external actuators
- Local automation runs fully on the device
- Optional cloud monitoring and remote control via the app
- Weather-based ecosystem simulation using real-world data
What makes this different
Most existing setups rely on timers, smart plugs, and disconnected systems.
The Home Ecosystems Smart Controller replaces this with a single system that combines sensing, logic, and control in one place. It continuously reacts to environmental input and controls your ecosystem dynamically.
This is not a smart plug setup. It is a dedicated ecosystem controller designed for living systems.
Core capabilities
The controller continuously reads sensor data and controls connected devices in real time.
You can:
- Simulate natural light cycles including sunrise and sunset
- Control humidity and misting dynamically
- Automate rain cycles
- Regulate water movement and filtration
- Control heating and cooling elements
- Build custom automation rules based on sensor input
All automation runs locally on the device. Your ecosystem continues to operate even without internet access.
Weather-based ecosystem simulation
A key capability of the system is its integration with real-world environmental data.
You can connect your ecosystem to a virtual weather station and replicate conditions from actual locations around the world.
This allows you to:
- Follow real sunrise and sunset times from a chosen location
- Mirror real humidity and temperature patterns
- Recreate natural day and night cycles
- Build ecosystems inspired by specific climates
At the same time, you remain fully flexible:
- Override individual parameters
- Define your own daily or seasonal cycles
- Combine real data with custom logic
This enables both realistic replication and creative control.
Onboard control and external integration
Onboard output channels
The Smart Controller includes 8 PWM-controlled output channels for direct connection of devices such as:
- LED lighting systems
- Pumps and water circulation
- Ultrasonic misting units
- Valves and solenoids
- Low-voltage heating elements
These channels allow precise dimming and control, especially for lighting and compatible DC devices.
External sensors and actuators
The system is designed to extend beyond wired connections.
Currently supported integrations include:
- Bluetooth environmental sensors
- Wi-Fi connected smart devices
- External temperature probes including waterproof sensors
- Shelly-based devices such as plugs, sensors, and RGBW controllers
Typical system capacity:
- Up to 8 internal 24v Dimmable/ONOFF channels
- Up to 8 external sensors
- Up to 8 external channels (smart plugs, smart lights, etc)
This allows hybrid systems combining wired reliability with wireless flexibility.
Hardware overview
- 24V DC system
- 8 PWM output channels
- Designed for continuous operation
- Stable dimming and switching behavior
- Enclosure designed for long-term use
Technical limitations and operating parameters
To ensure safe and reliable operation, the system operates within the following constraints:
- Supply voltage: 24V DC
- Maximum recommended load per channel: approximately 80W
- Maximum total system load: up to 200W depending on power supply
- Total load must be distributed across channels
- PWM outputs are designed for DC loads and compatible devices
- Not suitable for direct control of high-voltage AC devices
The actual usable capacity depends on the selected power supply and connected devices.
Connectivity and control
- Local Wi-Fi access point for setup
- Optional connection to home network
- Bluetooth support for sensors
- App-based configuration and monitoring
Local-first architecture
- Automation runs entirely on the device
- No dependency on cloud services
- Stable operation even without internet
Optional cloud features
If connected:
- Remote monitoring
- Remote control
- Future cloud-based diagnostics and features
Smart Control App
With the Home Ecosystems app, you can:
- Configure your system
- Add sensors and devices
- Build automation rules
- Monitor values in real time
- Access your system remotely if enabled
Typical use cases
- Automated terrariums
- Aquariums and paludariums
- Plant walls and living installations
- PlantArt systems
- Experimental ecosystem setups
Delivery and requirements
- Please note that shipping is expected end of June
- Power supply not included
You will need a suitable 24V power adapter:
- Select wattage based on your total load
- Ensure stable and sufficient power for connected devices
Summary
